The chemical name for extruded board is Styrofoam. Styrofoam can be divided into expandable polystyrene and continuous extruded polystyrene. Compared with polystyrene board, polystyrene board is the third generation of rigid foam insulation material. Technically, it eliminates the defects of the complex production process of polystyrene board, and has advanced performance that cannot be replaced by polystyrene board. It is made of polystyrene resin and other additives according to the extrusion process with a continuous uniform surface layer and a closed-cell honeycomb structure type sheet. Some of these honeycomb type slabs have no voids at all. Insulation materials with a closed-cell structure type can have different pressures (150-500 kPa) and on the other hand have the same low thermal conductivity (only 0.028 W/m·g) and lasting excellent thermal insulation and compression performance parameters, compressive strength to achieve 220-500 kPa. In addition to excellent thermal insulation properties, there are also other performance parameters. Excellent thermal insulation performance parameters have the characteristics of high thermal resistance, low linearity and low expansion rate. Its structure type has a closed cell rate of over 99%, establishes a vacuum layer, prevents airflow and heat dissipation, and ensures the durability and stability of thermal insulation performance parameters. Compared with the 80% closed cell ratio of foamed polyurethane, its main competitive advantage is self-evident. Social experience has proved that the thermal insulation effect of 20mm thick polystyrene extruded insulation board is equal to 50mm thick expanded polystyrene and 120mm thick cement perlite, so this material is a better choice for building insulation at the current stage. Excellent high compressive capacity Because of the unique structure type of XPS board, it has high tensile strength and strong impact resistance. According to the different types and thicknesses of polystyrene, its tensile strength can be above 150~500kpa, and it can bear the ground load of various systems. Widely used in geothermal engineering, highway, airport runway, square ground, large cold storage, interior decoration and thermal insulation and other industries. High and good hydrophobicity and moisture resistance and water absorption are key parameters for measuring thermal insulation materials. The thermal insulation performance parameters decrease after the thermal insulation material is easy to absorb water. At low temperature, the inhaled water is easy to freeze, damage the structural type of the insulation material, and reduce the compression resistance and thermal insulation performance parameters of the board. Because the molecular structure of polystyrene itself is not easy to absorb water, the plate-like molecular structure is stable and has no gaps, which solves the problems of water leakage, penetration, frosting, and condensation of other materials. Good stability and corrosion resistance In long-term use, extruded polystyrene board will not age, decompose or appear harmful substances. Its chemical properties are relatively stable and will not be easily degraded by water absorption and corrosion, which will reduce its performance parameters. It can maintain its superior performance parameters in the continuous high temperature environment. According to relevant information, even after 30-40 years of use, extruded polystyrene board can still maintain excellent performance parameters, and will not decompose or mold, and will not emit toxic substances.
